Its generous reed compatibility gives players freedom of choice, while its easy control makes it a reliable ally— regardless of skill level or repertoire. The result: a rich, stable, colorful sound that encourages natural, confident musical expression.

For over a century, hard rubber (ebonite) has been the material of choice in our mouthpiece production thanks to its acoustic and mechanical properties. Made from natural latex (Hevea), our ebonite is nontoxic and fully compliant with European Directive EU2009/48/EC. Henri SELMER Paris maintains strict standards of safety and quality, using only high-grade, easy-to-machine ebonite for lasting durability and exceptional sound.

Every Density mouthpiece is precisely crafted in our Mantes-la-Ville workshop using high precision CNC machines—adapted from Swiss watchmaking for micron-level accuracy (tolerance < 0.03 mm). A state-of-the-art 3D optical control machine with high-resolution camera ensures each mouthpiece is meticulously inspected to meet our stringent quality benchmarks.

Each mouthpiece is hot-stamped with gold foil using traditional methods, showcasing its origin and authenticity. The SELMER logo, model name, and “Made in France” mark are all embedded in the body of the mouthpiece. Each mouthpiece comes with a Velvet mouthpiece pouch and cushion.
