Returns & Exchanges Policy

We want you to feel confident and excited about your purchase from Meridian Winds! We take our customer service very seriously. If something isn’t quite right for you, we're here to help. The following policies apply to all sales.

Return Eligibility

  • Returns must be initiated within 10 days of delivery (as confirmed by carrier tracking) or within 10 days of in-store purchase. Please contact Robert at robert.meridianwinds@gmail.com prior to shipping your return.

  • Returned items must be unmodified, and in original condition, including all original packaging, accessories, and documentation.

  • Any item showing signs of use, wear, damage, or modification is not eligible for return.

Restocking Fee

  • Approved returns are subject to a non-negotiable 10% restocking fee, not to exceed $500 per item.

  • The restocking fee applies to all eligible returns and is deducted from the refund total.

Shipping Charges

  • All shipping charges are non-refundable.

  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

  • Original outbound shipping costs will be deducted from the refund, even if the order qualified for free shipping.

  • We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit. For your convenience, a return label can be provided, and the costs deducted from your final refund.

  • Meridian Winds is not responsible for missing/stolen packages after the courier has declared it as delivered to you.

Defective Products

  • Exchanges for defective products are exempt from restocking fees.

  • For confirmed defects, we will provide a replacement and cover return and outbound shipping costs.

  • Defective items must be reported within the 10-day return window and are subject to inspection.

  • Instruments in need of minor adjustment/modification to suit personal preference (Spring tension, key heights, etc.) are not covered under the defective item policy. All instruments are inspected and play tested by our technicians to ensure condition prior to shipping. We assert that all instruments are in good playing condition (unless specified otherwise) when they leave our custody. Partial refunds to cover adjustment/customization after shipping are given on a case-by-case basis, and at our discretion.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are final sale and not eligible for return or refund:

  • International sales

  • Products advertised as “As Is,” “Clearance,” or “Blowout”

  • Special order items

  • "Limited Edition" items
  • Any reeds once their package has been opened
  • Any item that has been used, modified, or damaged after purchase

Special Orders

We pride ourselves in being able to provide virtually any musical product you may want! As a small business, we are unable to warehouse everything in our suppliers' catalogues. Instead, we offer the ability to special order anything from any of our vendors!
  • Special order items require a 25% non-refundable deposit before the order is placed.

  • Once ordered, special order items are non-returnable and non-refundable, regardless of condition or delivery status/ETA. If a special order item is deemed defective, our defective item policy applies.

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original method of payment, or by check.

  • Please allow 5-10 business days after receipt and inspection of the returned item for processing.
